Caltrops, Cloak, & Dagger

The inspiration for Caltrops, Cloak, & Dagger was the nature of the d4 itself. The tetrahedral dice could very well function as real caltrops (better than LEGOs, anyway), a triangle is a suitable shape to represent a cloak (the Deathly Hallows is a well-known example of this), and the most popular TTRPGs use the d4 to represent damage done by daggers.

Although this game is generally setting agnostic, it is perhaps best suited for—you guessed it—”cloak and dagger” settings & gameplay: Any place that has masks, shadows, and intrigue, where getting what you want is a matter of taking, bribing, tricking, or planning.

This game was made for the Caltrop Core Game Jam, run by Titanomachy in December 2021. This was my first time participating in a game jam (except for that one time I chickened out), and this is one of the first two TTRPGs I've created (the other, Platonic Elements, was also part of this same game jam). Because this game has not been meticulously playtested, feedback is welcome & appreciated. If nothing else, I see this game as an avenue to explore some cool, fun concepts that I see potential in.
